Hungary lies at the crossroads of Eastern and Western cultures – an influence that is also reflected in its weapons. The Hungarian Saber is a versatile cutting and thrusting weapon, primarily used from horseback, though it was also employed in foot combat.
The blade of this saber is made from durable 1055 carbon steel, with high spring tempering. Its unique shape, with an axe-like tip, makes the blade wider at the tip than at the guard. The sturdy guard provides additional protection for the hand and forearm due to its width. An experienced swordsman can deflect incoming strikes with minimal wrist movement, as the wide guard covers a large area.
The leather scabbard is adorned with intricately designed fittings, providing an elegant contrast to the black leather.
