Italian long sword with scabbard
Italian longsword with scabbard - Sharp blade for precise blows The longsword was one of the most important weapons in medieval Europe for several centuries. From around 1350 to 1650, it proved its worth both on the battlefield and in the art of fencing. Its long, double-edged blade not only offered an impressive reach, but also the necessary leverage for powerful blows and precise thrusts. The characteristic cross shape of the hilt with its long crossguard and heavy pommel not only served to protect the hand, but could also be used strategically to disarm opponents or throw them off balance. A special technique was used against heavily armoured opponents in particular: the half-sword. This involved gripping the blade with one hand in order to guide the tip through weak points in the armour. This versatility made the longsword an indispensable weapon in the martial arts of its time. This Italian longsword is modelled on historical examples and impresses with its elegant and functional design. The sharp blade is primarily optimised for thrusts, but the cutting edges are also extremely effective. The handle is made of wood and wrapped in leather, while the crossguard is slightly curved downwards to provide additional protection. The fishtail pommel ensures optimum balance and enables precise manoeuvres. The sword is supplied with a high-quality, leather-covered wooden scabbard reinforced with steel fittings. Features: Blade material: 1060 carbon steel Total length: approx. 119.4 cm Handle length: approx. 29.2 cm Blade length: approx. 90.2 cm Weight: approx. 1273 g Includes leather-covered wooden sheath with steel fittings Note: This item is only for sale to persons of legal age. Large Bidenhänder, Gassenhauer
Large Bidenhänder - Mighty two-handed sword This impressive two-handed sword is one of the largest of its kind and impresses with its enormous reach and cutting power. Despite its imposing size, it is excellently balanced and offers experienced fighters astonishing agility. With a blade length of over a metre and a weight of around 3 kg, this Bidenhänder is a weapon that can have a devastating effect in close combat. Historically, it was used by Landsknechts to hold their own against pikes or other swordsmen - and even against bayonets and rifle butts. It was not for nothing that this weapon was nicknamed the "Gassenhauer", as it could cut a swathe through enemy formations in battle. To protect the hands, the sword has an impressive crossguard with parrying rings. Parrying hooks further forwards not only provide additional safety, but also allow the blade to be shortened for close combat attacks. The long, leather-wrapped wooden handle provides a secure grip for both hands and ends with a heavy steel pommel, which not only optimises balance but can also be used as a striking weapon.
