O Bokken, training sword with optimised grip

Product information "O Bokken, training sword with optimised grip"

O Bokken - training sword made of polypropylene (2015 model with improved handle design)

The Cold Steel® O Bokken is the modern evolution of a traditional Japanese training sword - optimised for realistic and safe sword fighting training. This 2015 version features a handle with an authentic cord wrap look that offers excellent grip and control even when wearing gloves.

As the samurai of ancient Japan and the Roman gladiators of antiquity already knew: true sword mastery begins with the right training. The choice of training equipment plays a decisive role here - especially if you want to wield a real, sharp blade safely later on.

While classic bokken made from Japanese white oak can be effective but expensive and prone to breakage, the Cold Steel® O Bokken offers a high-quality, durable alternative made from particularly tough polypropylene. It is virtually unbreakable, weatherproof, cut-resistant and surprisingly close to the original - in terms of size, weight and handling.

The wide, smooth blade with the typical shape of a Japanese katana is specially designed for sparring training - ideal for kata, partner exercises, conditioning drills or training on a wooden pole (makiwara/palus). In combination with appropriate protective equipment, this bokken is perfect for modern Budō arts such as kendo, kenjutsu, aikido, iaido or self-defence with a sword.

Suburito, training weapon

Average rating of 0 out of 5 stars

Suburito, training weapon
Suburito - Training weapon made of polypropylene (Cold Steel®) Solid training sword for technique and strength training The Suburito is a traditional Japanese training weapon developed to improve cutting technique, posture and strength endurance. Unlike a normal bokken, it is heavier, thicker and primarily designed for individual training and swinging exercises. The simulated effort involved in handling this weapon makes it a respectful tool on the way to becoming a better swordsman. The Cold Steel® Suburito was modelled on a handmade wooden original from the collection of Andrew Demko (5th Dan Aikido), with whom Lynn C. Thompson - President of Cold Steel - also trained personally. The realisation: a more modern version made of indestructible material had to be created. The result is a training sword made from high-quality polypropylene with a long handle and square tip - absolutely unbreakable, weather-resistant and suitable for years of intensive training. It does not splinter, does not rot and retains its shape - even under heavy use. The Suburito is visually impressive with its authentic wooden design and engraved Kanji characters, which symbolise the five basic principles of sword fighting: Circular Motion Blade Angle (blade angle) Cutting Trajectory Distancing (distance to the opponent) Wringing the Tea Cloth (tension in the cut) This training sword is ideal for anyone who wants to perfect their technique and strength with a massive, realistic training weapon. Highlights: Made according to a historical model Extremely robust and durable Perfect for cutting exercises and individual training With traditional kanji engravings No splintering, no tearing - unlike wood Details: Material: High-quality polypropylene Total length: approx. 114.3 cm Thickness: approx. 2.5 cm Weight: approx. 1108 g Cold Steel® article number: 92BKM

This revised version from 2015 impresses with a handle in a traditional cord wrap look, which is not only visually appealing but also ensures excellent control - even when wearing gloves. But wood has its weaknesses: It can crack, splinter or become unusable due to weathering - and high-quality, genuine bokken are also often expensive. The Cold Steel solution: indestructible polypropylene Cold Steel has created a modern, durable alternative: Training weapons made from particularly high-quality polypropylene. These models impress with their extreme durability, long service life and realistic handling - with maximum safety during training. Break-resistant Cut-resistant Weatherproof Virtually indestructible The O Tanto Bokken is ideal for sparring, partner exercises, fitness training and use on the Makiwara or Palus. Italian long sword with scabbard
Italian longsword with scabbard - Sharp blade for precise blows The longsword was one of the most important weapons in medieval Europe for several centuries. From around 1350 to 1650, it proved its worth both on the battlefield and in the art of fencing. Its long, double-edged blade not only offered an impressive reach, but also the necessary leverage for powerful blows and precise thrusts. The characteristic cross shape of the hilt with its long crossguard and heavy pommel not only served to protect the hand, but could also be used strategically to disarm opponents or throw them off balance. A special technique was used against heavily armoured opponents in particular: the half-sword. This involved gripping the blade with one hand in order to guide the tip through weak points in the armour. This versatility made the longsword an indispensable weapon in the martial arts of its time. This Italian longsword is modelled on historical examples and impresses with its elegant and functional design. The sharp blade is primarily optimised for thrusts, but the cutting edges are also extremely effective. The handle is made of wood and wrapped in leather, while the crossguard is slightly curved downwards to provide additional protection. The fishtail pommel ensures optimum balance and enables precise manoeuvres. The sword is supplied with a high-quality, leather-covered wooden scabbard reinforced with steel fittings. Viking sword
Historical Viking sword of the 9th and 10th centuries The Viking sword of the 9th and 10th centuries was characterised by a long, broad blade with a central fuller and two edges. A simple, forward-curved crossguard was often combined with a handy handle made of leather-covered wood. In some cases, materials such as bone or brass were also used. A solid pommel with five ridges was used to balance the long blade. This replica has a hand-forged, double-edged blade made of carbon steel, which has been polished by hand and sharpened to perfection. Italian long sword with scabbard - Man-at-Arms series

Average rating of 0 out of 5 stars

Italian long sword with scabbard - Man-at-Arms series
Italian longsword - Man at Arms with leather sheath The Italian longsword from the Man at Arms (MAA) series by Cold Steel® is an impressive reconstruction of a classic medieval sword that is equally suitable for combat and historical collection. It carries on the tradition of the valiant "Man-at-Arms" - warriors who proved themselves in countless battles, but without the status of knights. These soldiers were known for their unwavering loyalty and courage, and Cold Steel® honours these warriors with this sword collection that is both high quality and affordable. Compared to Cold Steel®'s premium versions, the MAA longsword features a blued blade and black handles for a functional yet aesthetically pleasing look. Although the MAA blades have no silver-polished steel parts, they fulfil the highest standards of performance and quality. These blades are fully sharpened and battle-ready, with a robust yet elegant design that reflects the sharpness and functionality of a true longsword. The longsword from the MAA series has a long tradition and was the favoured sword in medieval Europe for almost 300 years (approx. 1350 to 1650). The double-edged blade is ideal for use against both light and heavy armour. Particularly noteworthy is the reach of the blade, which enables powerful thrusts and cuts, while the long crossguard and heavy pommel act as striking weapons and can throw the opponent off balance. The half-sword technique, in which the swordsman grasps the blade with one hand, makes it possible to stab precisely into gaps in the armour. The MAA Italian longsword was modelled on classic Italian designs, with the emphasis on thrusting attacks. Nevertheless, the cutting edges are surprisingly effective and make the sword a versatile weapon for swordplay. The simple yet functional crossguard and the balanced fishtail pommel round off the design perfectly. Included is a high-quality leather sheath with blued steel fittings, which keeps the sword safe and stylish at the same time. Hunting sword
Hunting sword The hunting sword, also known as the "hanger", was an extremely popular weapon in Europe and North and South America in the 16th and 17th centuries. With a mostly short blade that was rarely longer than 65 cm, this sword was characterised by its handiness and effectiveness. It was the ideal companion, whether on foot, on horseback or on a narrow ship deck. In addition to its popularity in the fashion of the time, the hunting sword was indispensable in many situations due to its practical use. Cold Steel's® version of this historic hunting sword combines stylish design with outstanding functionality. The satin-finished blade has multiple fullers and a back edge, which gives it both aesthetic charm and exceptional sharpness. The handle is made from high-quality, hand-carved Malaysian salwood and decorated with nickel silver pins. The sheath made of robust black leather perfectly matches the elegant design of the sword, while the nickel silver fittings with decorative embossing provide additional accents. 1055 carbon steel This steel is characterised by its stable, robust character, as it is less brittle than steels with a higher carbon content. It is ideal for making blades that require high impact resistance and is often used in machetes, large knives and swords.
